NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools where the water is deeper than the teachers’ standing depth and meets the Individual sites risk assessment.

The qualification is also named as  the “Reach and Rescue” or “Rescue Test for Teachers”

Course Overview

Section 1 – The Teacher, swimming pool and class management  – 2 Hours

Section 2 – Intervention rescue and emergency action – 2 Hours

Section 3 – CPR and first aid – 2 hours

The course is delivered over One day

Assessment

Independently assessed at the end of the course.

Renewal Candidates 6 hours plus assessment

How long does it last for ?

• It lasts for 2 years from initial course assessment date.
• Candidates need to complete 6 hours training or  evidence of 6 hours ongoing training plus assessment.
